A little bit about us...
Let's Make Something Beautiful is a Yorkshire based graphic design agency run solely by one freelancer, Zoe. The company has been running for many years, back when Zoe would dabble in odd bits and pieces of design work and wedding stationery in her spare time, but was officially established in 2014 when Zoe decided to take the plunge and go solo.
Her first office was at her home in Leeds - at the kitchen dining table - but she moved to Lancashire where she went on to set up an official office space within The Arcade in Colne later that year.
In the summer of 2016 she moved to a bigger premises at Craven Court Shopping Centre in Skipton where she set up her second company, The Geek Side. There are now plans for a third business on the horizon too!
Zoe's passion for design started when she got a job as a junior designer at a local printers at age 16, straight out of school. There she learned all aspects of design and print and gained years of industry experience. She has now been working within the design and print industry for 21 years - wow now I feel old - and has worked with some of the world's top brands as well as with fellow small independent businesses.
We are extremely proud that we have had the opportunity to be nominated for multiple awards for our wedding stationery, become finalists for many and have even won two awards - the North West Wedding Awards 2016 and The English Wedding Awards 2017.
Our charity work
Over the years we have raised money and awareness for many charities that are very close to our hearts. This has included Cancer Research, Breast Cancer Care, Barnardo's, The Solomon Project, Pendleside Hospice, Pendle Dogs In Need, CRY (Care and Relief for the Young) and many more.
Our chosen charity at the moment is Richmond Fellowship, which is an organisation that helps people suffering with all kinds of mental health problems.
Zoe recently spent a week in one of their crisis houses (Oak House, Burnley) after suffering with depression for many years having found the services that the NHS currently offer ineffective and, a lot of the time, counterproductive making things much worse.
The week at Oak House, Burnley consisted of intense daily sessions, designed specifically for each individuals needs, giving them the tools to be able to cope back out in the real world at home and in work.
"The work that the team does at Oak House is simply amazing. I was at breaking point and honestly don't think I would still be here if it wasn't for the incredible work that they do. The sessions the charity provided were very insightful, helpful and validating. Thank you so much!"
