Updated: Sep 5, 2022

Hello beautiful,

We are super excited to share this month’s Real Bride Feature Wedding of the Month! The theme for Mr & Mrs Crawford’s wedding is so personal and unique we have been really looking forward to sharing the details of their special day. Daniel and Joanne Crawford were married on 11th September, 2015, at The Falcon Manor, in Settle, North Yorkshire.

So, let’s see what Joanne had to tell us about her wonderful wedding!

How did you meet?

"On a blind date set up by my brother at the Fence Gate"

How did he propose? Or did you take the plunge?

"Dan took me to Reykjavik, Iceland as a surprise. We had such a fabulous time. He had hoped to see the northern lights to propose under but they didn’t come out to play, so Dan got down on one knee in the apartment instead. He proposed with a ring he’d designed, and had used my grandma’s diamond that she left me in it. Very special."

Tell us about planning your wedding…

"We knew the Falcon Manor had been refurbished so went to have a look. Loved it and booked it! We didn’t look at any other venues. It was just right for a small intimate day with family and friends. We kept everything simple and elegant to avoid any fuss. So planning was simple and not stressful - but fun."

What were you most excited about?

"Seeing all our family and friends together and becoming Mr and Mrs C!"

Did you trust your other half with any of the planning?

"Dan let me get on with it, he sorted his and the boys suits and kept them a surprise."

What was your theme?

"Dan loves films so we themed the day very gently around the movies and linked it with soft elegant colours and Dan’s family Crawford tartan."

How did Zoe incorporate this theme in to your stationery?

"We had table names as mini movie posters linked to a movie poster table plan. As favours Zoe made mini popcorn boxes to put popcorn flavoured sweeties in. These doubled as place cards as each had guests name on. Invites, both for day and evening events were movie themed, but also represented us. These linked to the menu cards too."

What was your experience with Zoe like, as a designer?

"She’s simply ace!!!! Clever, extremely efficient, professional and her work is flawless."

How did you feel when you saw the finished designs?

"So excited and thrilled. She so got my vision perfectly."

How many bridesmaids and pageboys did you have?

"My sister in law, Liz my best friend Mel were bridesmaids, my brother Matt and my nephew Harry were ushers."

Tell us about the big day itself…

"Flossy and Leigh helped me and my mum and the girls get ready at the Falcon in a beautiful room. Dan made his entrance with his best man Roger in a helicopter!!! A friend flew them, Simon. Not something you get to do everyday so Dan was very excited. We had 60 guests, a civil ceremony, sit down dinner, disco and my friend Danny got a band together for later. We played games on the lawn, drank Prosecco. It was sunny all day, but a little breezy at times. The best man made us do a “Mr and Mrs” as part of his speech which was fun too!"

Did your guests like your stationery?

"They loved it and thought the theme and design were very clever."

Where are you planning to go on your honeymoon?

"We went to South Africa. It was unbelievably amazing. I cried all the way home, I was so sad to leave."

Would you recommend LMSB to friends and family?

"We already have!"

WOW! What a wonderful wedding! The Crawford’s design shows just how unique your wedding stationery can be. If you have an unusual theme, you can really run with it, and Zoe will always provide spectacular bespoke designs to help your theme flow throughout the event. This was one of Zoe’s favourite weddings to design for, as it allowed her to create something totally unique and quirky that was very personal to the bride and groom, that remained elegant and understated, with lots of opportunities for special little extras, like the wedding favours! Your wedding should be a reflection and celebration of you! So don’t hold back if you fancy something a little different.

Thank you to Daniel and Joanne for sharing your special day with us, and what lovely feedback for Zoe and LMSB!

Much love,
