Real Wedding - Mr & Mrs Noonan

Updated: Sep 5, 2022

Hello beautiful,

This month’s Featured Bride Wedding of the Month comes courtesy of Holly and Tom Noonan, who were married on the 18th June, 2016, at Newton Grange, a rural retreat.

How did you meet?

"Tom and I met in 2010 when the two companies we worked for merged together and I became his boss."

How did he propose? Or did you take the plunge?

"Tom proposed in March 2015 after almost 5 years together and the addition of our little boy, Buddy. Tom wanting to catch me out had taken me to the pub where we had our first date, and after reminiscing about the early days of our relationship got down on one knee!!!"

Tell us about planning your wedding…

"We both had the same thoughts that we wanted our wedding to be relaxed and child friendly, our relationship has never been a traditional one and in that sense a church wedding and hotel wouldn't have suited us. We had toyed with the idea of a wedding in Italy, but that proved too difficult so decided to run with a Yorkshire wedding and an Italian theme."

What were you most excited about?

"Genuinely, we were most excited about the ceremony, and making that commitment to each other with all our closest friends and family around us."

Did you trust your other half with any of the planning?

"Whilst planning the wedding we discovered that Tom had a hidden talent, (perhaps he will give up his job and become a wedding planner!) We had free reign at Newton Grange to have our wedding exactly as we wanted, so everything had to be organised by us. From the marquee to toilets, singer to caterers - Tom arranged all the big parts, whilst I was in charge of the finer details. Tom relished in the fact that he had done so much for the wedding and loved to say in front of our friends 'am I planning this wedding on my own?'"

What was your theme?

"Tuscan farmhouse - complete with olive trees, antipasti, prosecco and gelato! (yummy – LMSB)

How did Zoe incorporate this theme in to your stationery?

"I had an idea in my head to incorporate an olive branch/wreath in all our stationery, but wanted this to be gold and elegant"

What was your experience with Zoe like, as a designer?

"Zoe really pulled the idea from my head to get it on paper. Zoe was fantastic from design conception to the finished product, nothing was too much trouble. I loved how enthusiastic she was about my ideas too!"

How did you feel when you saw the finished designs?

"Absolutely over the moon that we had chosen Zoe to design our stationery, and amazed that she had been able to create exactly what I had imagined"

How many bridesmaids and pageboys did you have?

"We had three bridesmaids (my two best friends and my sister) a flower girl our niece and our son Buddy as the ring bearer!"

What was the easiest thing about planning your wedding?

"The food! Both of us LOVE food, we knew the best companies to use and exactly the food that we wanted to enjoy with our guest. Who doesn't love Pizza at Midnight?!"

…and the hardest?

"The Great British Weather! Choosing Newton Grange for our ceremony venue meant we had use of the farm house in which to get married, however, we wanted to make the most of the beautiful surroundings and the registrars agreed to conduct the majority of the wedding outside. This meant rain was not an option, we didn't really have a plan B."

Did your guests like your stationery?

"The stationery extended beyond just the invites to place settings, table names and favours tags, we even used the graphic from the invites to project on the dance floor, our guests couldn't believe how well everything linked together and fit in with our theme."

Where are you planning to go on your honeymoon?

"Tom and I had a mini moon in Cape Verde the week following the wedding, (without the little one) but are planning a family holiday to Australia in March, 2017."

Would you recommend LMSB to friends and family?

"I can't recommend Zoe and LMSB enough, every design is completely unique and made exactly to your specifications. The service is outstanding, nothing is too much trouble, and pricing is competitive. But most of all Zoe's passion for her work is what makes LMSB so successful and a pleasure to deal with!"

Wow, such incredible feedback from Holly and Tom! They really ran with their beautiful Tuscan farmhouse theme, bringing Italy to England, and included some very special finishing touches by using their olive branch design on the dance floor. And Holly, for the record, I LOVE pizza at midnight! Or any time, really! So long as it’s meat and dairy free and stacked high with veggies. Yummy!

Holly and Tom took a risk arranging their wedding outdoors in the unpredictable Great British summertime. Whilst LMSB can’t guarantee clear skies for you, we can guarantee we will always do our best to produce stationery for your wedding that brings your dream to life and wholly encompasses your theme. Nothing makes Zoe happier than seeing an idea come to life. The best executed themes require a special effort, it’s all in the details.. the more open you are with your vision, the easier Zoe can make it a reality...

Much love,
