Hello beautiful,
Welcome to our August edition of our Wedding of the Month - Feature Bride blog!
Just in the nick of time again too! Everything has been very hectic at LMSB HQ - whilst Zoe has been building flatpack furniture and re-arranging the shop to make space for all our new goodies, Charlotte has been working hard on various personal projects - primarily organising Leo's second birthday party! Time really does fly..
-
So let's meet this month’s bride, Charlene, who married Thomas Finch on the 15th April 2017. The wedding ceremony was carried out at Christ Church in Skipton, with their reception being held at the Falcon Manor in Settle.
Let’s see what Charlene has to divulge about her special day...
-
How did you meet?
"We are both teachers and work at the same school, which is where we met! We got on very well from the start and after a year or so we started seeing each other regularly outside of school, and it went from there."
How did he propose? Or did you take the plunge?
"Tom told me he was taking me for a day out. We ended up at Skipton Castle, one of my favourite places. He proposed to me in the banqueting room. It was very surreal but definitely memorable!"
Tell us about planning your wedding…
"We absolutely loved planning the wedding! We both had lots of ideas and had to compromise on certain things. From the start we knew we wanted to make it unique to us and put our own stamp on things. I did a lot of research on various bits such as table plans, favours, entertainment etc. Then I would share them with Tom and he would say yes or no! Occasionally he would send some ideas to me. I didn’t really find it stressful at all and enjoyed the whole experience!"
What were you most excited about?
"Everything! The theme was definitely up there along with having a day with our family and friends. We are both huge Harry Potter fans and we wanted to incorporate it into our day in a subtle way. Also, just spending the day surrounded by all those who were so excited for us."
Did you trust your other half with any of the planning?
"Yes! We trusted each other completely. I had my jobs and he had his. Tom had to design and make the order of service booklets and he did a super job."
What was your theme?
"Harry Potter with a splash of lego, haha. We are both big Potter fans and Tom loves lego. So the favours were personalised lego keyrings with the names in Harry Potter font."
How did Zoe incorporate this theme in to your stationery?
"Zoe was just as excited (if not more excited!) when we said we were having a Harry Potter theme! We decided to keep the invites traditional and sparkly but the table plan and table names were definitely Harry Potter themed. The table plan and name cards were just simply amazing!"
What was your experience with Zoe like, as a designer?
"Fantastic! She was so helpful and excited from day one. Nothing was too much trouble for her, and she would often reply to emails outside of working hours. The service was definitely personalised to what we wanted and she worked incredibly hard to make sure her designs matched our vision."
How did you feel when you saw the finished designs?
"Overwhelmed! The table plan was simply unique and we loved it. The quality of everything was fantastic. We were very excited when we collected our invitations!"
How many bridesmaids and pageboys did you have?
"We had four bridesmaids, three ushers and a best man."
Tell us about the big day itself…
"We had an amazing day. No amount of words could describe how we felt that day. Everything was just as we had imagined.
"I felt like a princess in my dress and I was incredibly calm throughout the whole day. After the church service we all got a double decker route master bus to the Falcon."
"As it was Easter weekend we had organised an Easter Egg hunt for people to do before the wedding breakfast. The very talented Tim Clarke played a range of songs on the saxophone, including the Harry Potter theme tune.
"The Falcon was a stunning venue and they helped make the day perfect. In the evening the guests enjoyed a selfie mirror photobooth and a ‘Honeydukes’ sweet cart!
"I would love to do it all again as it just went sooooo quick!"
What was the easiest thing about planning your wedding?
"Everything! Enjoying the whole process definitely helped."
…and the hardest?
"Losing my grandad just before Christmas and knowing he wouldn’t be there. However, we had a special memory table with photos and a candle for those who had passed away."
Did your guests like your stationery?
"Yes! We had lots of positive feedback about the formal invites and how professional they were."
Did you get any particularly positive feedback for your theme and design?
"Yes. Everybody loved how unique it was. Those who were familiar with Harry Potter were amazed and so excited!"
Where are you planning to go on your honeymoon?
"We have booked to Florida next year and will definitely be visiting the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal!" (Jealous! - LMSB)
Would you recommend LMSB to friends and family?
"Absolutely! Zoe was very friendly and helpful and the service we received was superb. We would definitely recommend LMSB to anybody wanting a unique service and a friendly face!"

What an amazing wedding! Zoe and I are huge Harry Potter fans, so I know how unbelievably excited Zoe was to get an order such as this.
Your wedding day is uniquely yours - don't be afraid to incorporate the things you love into your special day! Zoe is adept at handling special requests like these, and working on a project such as ones incorporating movie or book themes is super exciting for movie nerds like us!
We hope you have enjoyed this August edition of the Featured Bride - Wedding of the month blog. We hope to bring you more regular news and more informative blogs very soon - once the chaos in September settles - and we can start talking about our FAVOURITE time of year... Christmas!
